The Main Roads overlay and chainage marks
How the orange Main Roads overlay works, when chainage tick marks and labels appear, and how to turn the overlay off.

The Main Roads overlay highlights every state-controlled road in orange. Turn it on and off with the road button in the tools on the right. Zoom in, and chainage marks appear: a tick every hundred metres, with bigger ticks every half kilometre, labelled in kilometres. Zoom in further, and every hundred metres is labelled. And the road under your pin glows, so you can see which carriageway it's on.
