Road sections and carriageways explained
How TMR road sections and carriageway codes work, why chainage restarts each section, and how to pick the right carriageway.
Transcript
Main Roads are split into road sections, each with its own number, like ten A on the Bruce Highway. Chainage is measured from the start of the section, and starts again at zero on the next one. Each side of a divided road is its own carriageway. Code one is an undivided road, and codes two and three are the two sides of a divided road.
Letters are ramps, service roads and other connections. At a divided road or an interchange, zoom in and tap right on the carriageway you mean.
