How Chainage keeps your data safe
How Chainage protects your projects: data hosted in Australia, encryption, access checks, two-factor sign-in, tested nightly backups, and what we never do with your data.
Transcript
Your projects hold information that really matters. Where your crews are working. Your plans. Your site photos. So here's exactly how Chainage keeps all of it safe. First up, everything you store stays in Australia. Your projects, photos, files and backups all live in a secure data centre in Sydney. Every connection is encrypted. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as plain text.
And every single request is checked against your access, so people only ever see what their role, and your sharing, allows. Our own admin tools don't show the contents of your projects. And if we ever have to take an action on your account, it's recorded, and it shows up right there in your company's activity log. Your accounts are protected with two-factor sign-in, using an authenticator app or an emailed code, and companies can make it compulsory for the whole team.
Too many wrong passwords? The account slows down, then locks. And you'll get an email whenever your account signs in on a new device. Underneath it all, the platform is locked down in layers. A tight firewall. A hardened server with automatic security updates. An isolated app. And your data, right at the centre. Every night, Chainage takes an encrypted backup, stores it in Sydney, and then tests it automatically.
If anything doesn't check out, we know about it straight away. And your data is yours. Export everything, any time. Points, ranges, photos and files, all in one click. Now, full transparency. We do look at an overview of where Chainage gets used, so we know where to grow next, like adding council roads on the Sunshine Coast. But there are no names, and no IP addresses.
And when you're signed in, the places you look up aren't recorded at all. We never sell your data. We never share it. And we never use it to train A.I., or to give insights to other customers. Want the full details? Read our Security and Data Handling document, at chainage.com.au/security
